Mr. Grammar Can’t Speak English
One day I met a student. I knew he had done well on his grammar test. I spoke with him in English of course. But then I was surprised that he couldn’t speak English at all. I tried to ask him the reason why he couldn’t speak English because his grammar is definetly excellent. Then he didn’t give me the reasons.  I gave him some suggestions that we didn’t smart in English when we didn’t English. We didn’t have to speak English fluently, but we must try over and over and keep on in speaking English whenever and wherever we have chance. I asked him once again why didn’t try to speak in English. Then he told me that he keeps thinking about the grammar when he speaks, so he always thinks whether this sentences is right or wrong grammatically before he says it. That’s why he can’t speak at all in English.

When we learn English ofcourse there are many subjects as Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing, Grammar and Translation. Grammar is trully  one part of learning English. I’m sure you’ve already known about it. Some of yau may think of grammar as the easiest thing in English , while some may think about it as a big horrible English monster. We all know that grammar is very important. Grammar is like a building because grammar makes it easy for us to speak and feel confident to write. And finally, because he thinks too much about grammar, they can’t speak at all in English.

Learning English is not easy as other subjects. When we learn English ofcourse we know that we learn two things, the first we must learn the theory and the second one we must practice it. To master  English we must practice and say it what we’ll do and we’ll want. For example from lowest matter as we must say greeting when we meet our friend and so on.

Remember language does not like  math. In math, you just keep silent, you count everything, you remember all the formulas and you can solve the problem. You are an expert.

English totally different form math. Nobody will know that you are an expert if you can’t speak at all, eventhough you know a lot of grammar. A big part of language is speaking and communicating, because language is a means to transfer between one to another.
Language is a means of communication. People use language a s an instrument to form their thoughts, emotions and  activities. Language can not be separated from human beings because it plays apart in every human beings activities. Language is the most vital instrument for human life. Without language no science can be taught and developed.

In communication the most important thing is to make sure that your message is well accepted. You don’t have to be Mr. Grammar in speaking. All you have to do is to build up your vocabulary and do not think so much about grammar. The point is how to make your message is well accepted by others.

You can also practice with foreigner and I’m sure they will notice your grammar as long as they understand what you say, eventhough your grammar is not good. I hope by doing this, you will not be afraid to talk anymore and you will get more self confidence when you speak.

However, this article is not excuse to leave your grammar in a list. You still have to learn about it and you have to master it so you will also be able to write. You are not only able to speak, but also able to write.

My last sentence for you is don’t be afraid of making a mistake in speaking, because the more you make mistakes, you know and learn more about it. You must speak English in daily. You must try to communicate with your teacher, friends or family at your home, because it can help you to master English speaking.

Batara Kala

Batara Kala
It is good to know some of folktales our country has. This is one of the legends that is commonly told in Java. People in some villages in Java believe that in eclipse happens when the sun or the moon in swallowed by Batara Kala, an evil giant. The story says that although Batara kala is not one of the gods in heaven, he is very powerful.
One day Batara Wisnu (god, the protector) distributed the “ Tirta Amerta Sari” or the drink of the gods. Anyone who drank from it would never die. Batara Kala wanted to have some, too, so he tried to cheat by taking the form of a god. Batara Surya (the sun god ) and Batari Candra ( the moon goddess), however, knew of this trick and told Batara Wisnu about it. When Batara Kala’s turn came to receive the drink, Batara Wisnu shot him from a distance with his famous weapon, ‘the Cakra’ and it cut his head off. Some of the drink, however spilled over Batara Kala’s head and this made his head live forever. From then on Batara kala has continued to live without his body.
Batara Kala was very angry with Batara Surya and Batari Chandra and tried to eat them, but the god and goddess escaped. Batara Kala got angrier and from that time on he has never stopped chassing them. Batara Wisnu wanted to protect the god and goddess and ordered the people on earth to make a lot of noise whenever there is an eclipse. The noise would help Batara Surya and Batari Chandra to escape from Batara Kala’s throat. To this day people beat objects like grinders when they see an eclipse. They stay in their houses and pregnant women are told to hide under their beds in order to avoid Batara Kala’s anger
